I've got an Anton Walbrook exhibition

I've got an exhibition currently running at the Bill Douglas Centre at the University of Exeter. The lovely people there are exhibiting my MA project about Anton Walbrook as well as seven new pieces expanding on his early career in 1930s Germany and Britain, made especially for this exhibition. The illustrations are exhibited alongside artefacts like programmes, cigarette cards and a costume from one of Walbrook's Queen Victoria films. The exhibition will be running until June and you'd better go see it, there will be a quiz afterwards.

March 4th

An illustration about March 4th. The date which brought us the first recorded case of the 1918 Spanish flu, ushering in a global pandemic that killed 50-100 million people, the landslide election victory for Robert Mugabe in 1980 starting him on the not very long road to dictatorship and the 2001 bombing attempt of the BBC television center.

(Nice things did happen on the 4th of March too, like the US congress sitting for the first time, effectively putting the United States constitution into effect as well as the writing an proposition of the Bill of Rights and the first female member of the house of representatives is elected.)

Der Student.

Making new stuff for my Anton Walbrook exhibition at the Bill Douglas Centre next month. I threw together some components for a quickie illustration.

New World.

I’m kind of fractally stressed with things at the moment. Here’s a look at something that came about as a side effect.

Fire and Music.

Super busy. Trying to animate numerous explosions, fire and smoke to replace ill-chosen particle effects.

The Darkness Comes.

I never fully appreciated just how glorious turkeys were. So FASHION. Dumpy, laden with bulging masses of feathers and hideous growths dangling from their faces, add to that a low IQ, predispositions to asphyxiation in frenzied pile-ons and a tendency to fatally attack human children and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the presence of Naomi Campbell. Why, why aren't they tearing up the Eurotrash catwalks of the world?

Wallpaper design (suitable for a Conservative bachelor apartment)

It's.... finally..... FINISHED! The dread Thatcher project is slain!

“Wallpaper design (suitable for a Conservative bachelor apartment)”

Finally! It’s finished and I can rebuild my life!

Also, if you can guess what this is a parody of, then congratulations, you’re as warped and misguided as I am.

The last.

Working on the final portrait for my perverse wallpaper design. I am a broken person now, I can't be sure that I resisted the Tory indoctrination field.

Chinless Monetarist Venus.

The wallpaper design which originally started out as a lighthearted joke is now totally consuming me, sucking out my life through my marrow. I'm quite sure that this is how restraining orders start. We'll be together FOREVER!!!! (The end of the thing's near anyway, currently working on number 13 of 16).
